Bangalore Fashion Week: Bollywood Big Names to Walk BFW 2010 Ramp

Celebrities, models and designers thronged day two of the Bangalore Fashion Week 2010 in Bangalore, India.
Bollywood stars Deepika Padukone, Preity Zinta, and Mugdha Godse are some of the big names that would be walking the ramp.
The focus on day two was on shimmering silks and jewel colours.
Shantanu and Nikhil, Abdul Halder and Preethi Chandra were among the 30 designers, who presented their Winter/Spring creations at the fashion extravaganza.
Chandra’s collection mixed glamour with flower power, as models took to the runway in sequined hot pink tunics and dip-dyed indigo blue maxi dresses, with headbands over their 1970s inspired wavy hair.
“It was a very close to nature collection. My prints usually are very natural, flowers and roses and it was a very feminine collection. So we made a lot of birds and butterflies as accessories,” said Chandra.
The show stopper for Chandra was none other the gorgeous Pooja Chopra, Miss India 2009.From ornate traditional Indian wear to flirty shift dresses, the collections brought together the best of the East and the West.
Abdul Halder said, “See, it’s time to give something new to the women, so they can feel that there’s a designer who can design only for women.”
The day ended with an after-hour party by Kingfisher.
Five designers will be presenting their collection on the 30th, the third day of BFW, along with a brand show.
Claudia Antonini’s first unveiling in India, will be part of the Finale of the ongoing Bangalore Fashion Week, this Sunday, bringing back glamour of the 1950’s Hollywood stars.
